The Visual-Meta BibTeX section can include a field labeled ‘responseto’ which identifies a document which the current document is a response to, making it easier for the software system to thread PDF documents with Visual-Meta into a dialogue.
Implementations can include simply having a command in the reader software to ‘Reply’ to this document, which then opens up the authoring software with this tag ready to be included on export.
On reading documents which have ‘responseto’ documents, the interface should be able to show this to the user, perhaps through a cover page mechanism.
